The late actor Rishi Kapoor is seen on his last screen in the upcoming Sharmaji Namkeen. The first trailer of the movie came out on Thursday. After the death of Rishi in 2020, the remaining parts of the film were shot by Paresh Rawal. So, in short, both the actors are playing the role of Sharmaji in the film.
Sharmaji is a newly retired, middle class man looking for new hobbies. Her sons ask her to take yoga, zumba experiments or driving classes. But Sharma is good at cooking. He soon found some women looking for a cook for their satsang program but it turned out to be a slightly rude kitty party. Although angry at first, Sharma soon befriends women, especially Juhi Chawla.
The official summary reads: B.G. Sharma is a 58-year-old widower, one of the millions of faceless people in this worldly routine called life. One good day, the company he worked for fired her. Thud! Life stops. Sharma is struggling to deal with this beast called retirement. He keeps looking for ways to stay relevant, but only in the ways of his sons. One day, he comes in contact with a group of happy women. He wakes up in Sharma, usually with a passion for cooking and chutzpah, which helps him find his true invitation in life.
Fans of the actors were happy to see him in the same role. One wrote, “It’s sad and happy to see Rishi sir in the trailer,” wrote one. “Two Legends in one frame,” wrote another. Except, Paresh and Rishi never share a frame.
